Children of Time
by Adrian Tchaikovsky

I read this book and listened to it as well interchangeably. Narration is brilliant, and perfect to fall asleep to. The story line is whacky and out there. It’s more of a techno fairy-tale rather than a sci-fi with a plausible plot. Majority of characters are flat like IKEA furniture when in a warehouse. Tropes are repetitive. After a while it becomes dead boring, which is perfect to fall asleep to, but torture to finish.
P.S. I didn’t realise it’s a trilogy. I don’t think I can stomach two more books of this. So I will just ask ChatGPT to tell me the plot line summary instead.
